Covenant Grove Church

We exist to partner with God -
TO TRANSFORM RELIGIOUS AND IRRELIGIOUS PEOPLE INTO FULLY DEVOTED FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST.

Jesus said, "I am the Vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in Me and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)

Our church is all about God's mission of love. We will do anything other than sin to reach people who don't know Jesus and His love. We started in 2009 with a group of 44 people committed to reaching those who did not have a church home. We have met in schools, homes, online, in a tent, in a park, and in our church building. We are authentic about our faith and failures. We laugh together, eat together, serve each other, encourage each other, and forgive each other. We are anchored in hope, and we are faith-filled, prayer-led, big-thinking risk takers for Jesus!

We would love to have you join us on a Sunday, and we are here to talk more about Jesus, life, or any other questions you may have.

Roots of Love

Our focus is on Jesus - and everything we do connects back to His love. The love of Jesus transforms our lives - we don't earn it but respond to it with love. We don't just need help - we need new lives (resurrection), and that only happens with God's Spirit living in us. No other religion or philosophy teaches this - we are accepted just as we are, and we are transformed from the inside out.

There are three "Roots" that help us grow in God's love - Discipleship, Fellowship, and Mission. Covenant Grove focuses on life "below the surface" - so that each person's Roots can grow strong in Christ. This leads to resilient hope, grace-filled love, and overflowing joy!

Discipleship
being loved by and loving God

(Mark 12:29-31; Deut 6:4-5; Matt 4:18-20; John 15:1-17)

Jesus called men and women to follow Him – to be His close friends and imitate Him. Discipleship is all about accepting God’s amazing love and responding humbly with a life of genuine, obedient, devoted love.

  • "Roots Before Fruit" - We focus on the inner life then outer actions. We welcome deep thinking and tough questions.
  • "Prayer Is the Plow" - We pray first and plan second, and we are anchored in hope. We humbly follow the way of Jesus, and we are authentic about our faith and failures.

Key Habits - We grow the love of Discipleship through daily time with Jesus in the Bible and prayer, through worship and rest, and through faithfully giving our time, energy, creativity, and resources for God.

Fellowship
loving the family of Jesus

(John 13:34-35; Luke 10:27; Lev 19:18; Acts 2:42-47; Gal 5:19-6:6)

Fellowship happens when we commit to love each other deeply, forgive and be forgiven, and serve Christ together.

  • "Better Together" - We are a family of faith where everyone is welcomed and loved, and everyone is challenged to follow Jesus. We work to be multi-ethnic and multi-generational, and to deal with conflict constructively.
  • "Made to Make a Difference" - We bring our best and celebrate creativity. We equip people for lives of significance.

Key Habits - We grow the love of Fellowship through Jesus-centered Life Groups, through serving on Teams at church, and through accountability.

Mission
with the Spirit - loving those lost, hurting, or in need

(Matt 28:18-20; Gen 12:1-3; Acts 1:8; Isa 11)

Jesus came to this earth with a mission to seek and save the lost. And He called His people to follow Him and join His Kingdom mission to reach out to those who are lost, hurting, or in need.

  • "Posture of Pursuit" - We will do anything other than sin to reach people who are not walking with Jesus. We join God's Spirit in the mission of transforming every human heart through an authentic relationship with Jesus.
  • "Honored to Sacrifice" - We are willing to be uncomfortable for the sake of our Savior's mission. The local church is the hope of the world, and it is an honor to give back to God's work.

Key Habits - We grow the love of Mission through serving those in need in our communities, through sharing the Good News of Jesus with others, and through working for justice.
